Lacrosse SA provides a number of education pathways to help our Coaches build their skills and knowledge.

Lacrosse Australia Level 1 Coaching Certificate

Contact Lacrosse SA Office for course dates, availability and information.  Prior to completing this course participants must also complete the ASC Community Coach Course (General Principles) and the Play by the Rules Courses in Child Protection and Harassment which can all be completed online (each taking 20 mins to 1 hour to complete).

 

 Australian Sports Commission Online Training Courses

The ASC offer a great range of online training courses aimed at providing Coaches with a strong understanding of basic coaching principles through to high performance concepts and skills.  All Lacrosse SA and Club coaches should complete at least the Community Coach General Principles course  (equivalent of Level 0 coach certificate).

Play by the Rules Online Training Courses

PBTR offers a number of courses focused at equipping Coaches and Club Officials with the knowledge and skills to provide safe environments free from harassment and discrimination.  Lacrosse SA and Club Coaches should all complete the online courses in Child Protection and Harassment and Discrimination.

Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) Online Training Courses

ASADA provide courses aimed at providing Coaches and Athletes a sound understanding of the legal, practical, governing and monitoring matters related to the use of drugs and other substances in sport.  Coaches representing Lacrosse SA Teams must complete a minimum of the Level 1 Anti-Doping course.

Lacrosse Australia Coaches Convention

Lacrosse Australia hold an annual Coaches and Officials Conference where many of Australia’s top Coaches present sessions aimed at sharing their knowledge, skills and widom.  The event is typically held over a weekend early in the calendar year (January-March).  .

Coach Resources Produced by US Lacrosse

US Lacrosse have a ton of great Coach resources available FREE on their website (https://www.uslacrosse.org/coaches/coaching-resources).  The site offers a huge variety of age based practice plans, guidelines to building your own practice plans and  a huge archive of training drills.

You can also sign up to US Lacrosse (around US $50 p.a.) and get full access to all the video and slideshow presentations from past US Lacrosse Coaches Conventions and their Mobile Coach app (IOS and Android ) which offers tool to plan practice sessions on your mobile device and see a huge range or practice drills/ideas.
