The ALA Senior Women’s (and Men’s) Australian Championships will be held at the Footscray Lacrosse Club in Melbourne, Victoria (Queens Birthday long weekend) from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 9st June 2019.

This is a wonderful opportunity for officials to gain much needed experience at a Senior National Event and have the opportunity to gain, or renew National Umpire Accreditation (which must be undertaken at least every 4-years). If you fall into these categories, please seriously consider this valuable opportunity.

To be umpiring/officiating in this 2019 season you must have successfully completed the ALA Theory Exam to the appropriate levels of officiating, i.e. for National Level Accreditation you must have scored a minimum of 90%. The FIL Rules Book, ALA Variations and ALA Rules Exam are all found in the ALA Website.

Additionally if you have been Umpiring at a senior level, preferably having National Accreditation, and wanting to take the next level as a Technical Delegate (TD) this could be the ideal “next step” for your officiating career.

Through ‘Cost Sharing’ arrangements amongst the States, the actual travel cost for each selected Official is covered by ALA, but again submit your EOI sooner than later.

The application form can be found here.

EOI’s are to be submitted by Friday 12th April 2019 for assessment by the WNTC and notification made to the successful Officials in order for travel and accommodation to be made.

Please Note: As per ALA Policy, all Officials (on-field & off-field) must attend the pre-event officials briefing at the event location on the day before the games commence.

Please submit your EOI, to your State Umpire In Charge:

Kindest Regards,

Martin Kiploks

ALA Umpire In Charge.
